It is a true pleasure and honor to welcome you in the 5th African Society of Radiology (ASR) conference, ASR 2019, and the 54th annual conference of the Egyptian Society of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine (ESRNM) to be held in Cairo, Egypt from the 16th to the 19th of January 2019.
An important role for the ESRNM and the ASR is to bring together radiologists especially from the different African countries and exchange their ideas and knowledge for the enrichment of our specialty and betterment of patient care.
Over a three–day period, both the fundamental and practical aspects of the latest developments in Radiology will be discussed by prestigious and outstanding lecturers whom already have favored our invitation. Aside from plenary sessions, topic symposiums and number of interactive and hands on workshops, a hallmark for 5th ASR 2019 is that specific problems pertaining to the practice of Radiology in Africa will constitute a major element of the program, and thereby will provide ample opportunities for discussion and interaction among colleagues practicing from this region. The main theme of the conference is Oncologic Imaging.
ASR, 2019 will also be an opportunity for participants to visit an industrial exhibition where major companies will present their products, supplies and services designed for Radiologists.
Conference rooms, exhibition hall, and accommodation will all be grouped under the same site thus offering a privileged setting for enduring exchanges.
I would like to thank all members of the scientific and organizing committees for their efforts to create a very valuable conference. I am so grateful as well to the Executive Board Members of the ASR for their trust.
On behalf of the scientific and organizing Committees, I wish you a prolific and fruitful ASR conference. I am sure you will enjoy your stay in our beloved and charming Cairo with its history, prestigious and modern facilities.
I am looking forward to welcoming you in Cairo.
Prof. Tarek El-Diasty President, ASR 2019 President, ASR President, ESRNM
